After-class group

Valmiera Green School offers an after-class group for school students until 5:00 PM. During this time, children learn new skills, improve existing ones, go outdoors, and interact with each other.

Cultural life in VALMIERA'S GREEN SCHOOL

Environmental Aesthetics classes

VALMIERA GREEN SCHOOL and specialist Gita offer Environmental Aesthetics classes for our children. The class enhances emotional and cognitive experiences, based on the realization of the aesthetic values of the natural environment. In the classes, the color cycle of the rainbow is used to ensure that each lesson has its own color.

💚 The environmental aesthetics lessons awaken and strengthen the child's individual resources, enhancing the senses, activating creative potential, and balancing and organizing emotions.

💚 The lessons provide multidimensional sensory impulses, positively affecting curiosity, and promoting processes of perception, cognition, and thinking.

School Newspaper "Green Leaves"

Since February 2023, the school's children have been working on the school newspaper "Zaļās lapas (Green Leaves)". The newspaper is published once a month, and its creation involves not only teacher Lelde and Amanda, but also the children themselves, who write articles about events and activities, conduct interviews, and transcribe them. The newspaper also features comics and surveys drawn by the children. This project helps develop children's journalism and writing skills, while also documenting school events in writing form.

School events

The daily life at VALMIERA'S GREEN SCHOOL is filled with various events.
We hold not only the traditional events like Christmas, and Easter, but also plan small activities within the Eco-Schools program, as well as celebrate various international days, such as Radio Day, Poetry Day, and others. In addition, our school also hosts Color Week, Shadow Week, and camps where students stay at school.

Excursions, Hikes, Event Visits

The children at VALMIERA GREEN SCHOOL often experience many positive emotions by exploring the world beyond the school. We go on both nearby and distant excursions and hikes, getting to know the surroundings of Valmiera, as well as attending concerts, theater performances, and sports games.
